ANDREW KATZ
These small assemblages fuse traditional watercolor and colored pencil portraiture with vintage electrician’s equipment. Each portrait is a combination of materials, music, and lyrical content. Many of the portrait boxes also become interactive with augmented reality, and provide a soundtrack for the viewing experience. This exploratory series is a next step for Katz, and each new piece offers bits of humor, clever juxtaposition of materials, and rock solid drawing/painting skills.
